the ghosts
concept: upcycled chair parts
our story begins with the scattered remnants of chairs and stools. i reassemble these random parts using steel mesh and cardboard, then cover the structures with plaster sheeting. the sheeting is draped, layered, and shaped by hand. as the plaster dries, the folds of cloth are manipulated to achieve a flow or feeling of the moment. in the gentle swaddling, the objects are reborn as ghosts, then placed on the street and left to a fate unknown. in the light of day, plaster takes on an ethereal glow.
the idea began in a dream state.
