the WATERFARM
concept: imagining climate change
Our story begins at the river's edge, where a vertical farm building faces flooded fields and rising waters. The lone farmer, unwilling to abandon his home, moves up one level at a time to stay ahead of the river.
To contemplate a global exodus from waterside communities is daunting. The Waterfarm images are computer-generated and retouched as i search for a muted, Hopper-esque stillness. The friendly and familiar forms of farm buildings are used to pull back from pure climate despair.
