concept: a quick study concept for a folding digital map.

our story begins with a world traveler who misses the ritual of unfolding a paper map. there’s untold promise and serendipity in seeing a large-scale view of an area, but tech provides the immediate deeper dive into history, culture, and activities.

the mapper concept consists of a single digital screen that folds, similar to paper maps. as the glass for digital screens improves, folding becomes increasingly possible. The screen is divided into four sections, allowing a full-bleed view of an area or a zoomed-in view of any quadrant. the map would support text and handwriting features to show site-specific facts and points of interest. mapper fits into a protective pouch for travel. it is rechargeable.
